Checklist for
visits to the cattery
As soon as you know you will be going away - book you cat’s stay with us too. We regularly take last minute bookings but it is always helpful to have plenty of notice, especially if your cat has special needs.
Four weeks before your trip, check that your cat’s vaccinations are up to date. Ideally, vaccinations should be completed 3 weeks before your cat’s visit to us.
One week before - re-do your cat’s flea treatment. We find the Frontline type of preparations from the vet, applied to the back of the neck, are very effective and easy to administer. Also at this point give us a quick call if your cat’s dietary or other needs have changed since your last visit, so that we can ensure that we have the correct diet for your cat.
On the day - make sure you know where your cat is well before you need to travel. Cats can and do disappear at the sight or sound of their traveling boxes. Many owners tempt their cats with tasty treats before the journey but it will make the journey more comfortable for your cat (and probably you) if you restrict access to food for 3-4 hours before traveling.
Remember
to bring with you:
Vaccination certificate
Any favourite bedding
Any
favourite toys
Then depart for your holiday knowing that your cat will be safe and well looked after whilst you are away.
